I bet you have never seen a picture of me without a broad smile on my face. That’s me. I am a happy person and always have something to smile about.

When am getting out of my house and see the picture of my children hanging on the wall, I smile. When I walk in the garden and smell the roses, I smile. When I hear the birds chirping, I smile. When I walk into the office and see Jessica at the reception, I smile. And when Gilbert walks in to take my picture, I smile. I have so much to smile about – the wonders of God’s creation that surround me, the many blessings in my life, my beautiful country… The list is endless.

But as you can see on this page today, I am not smiling. Why? It’s not because the blessings that surround me are not there any more – they still are and in plenty. It’s not because God’s presence is not in our midst – He still is. But I am not smiling because of my country; my beloved country.
