Michelle Obama for Vice President?

“I’d take her in a heartbeat,”

Joe Bidden’s remarks on Michelle Obama said a lot on his search for Vice President. In the interview with Pittsburgh’s premier political pundit, he went ahead to add,

“She is brilliant, she knows the way around. She is a really fine woman. The Obamas are great friends.”

This comes immediately after Joe Bidden’s pledge to pick a woman as his Vice president.

The truth of the mater here is, by Bidden saying he would pick Michelle to be his vice president, is like me saying I would pick Eliud Kipchoge in a long distance marathon. It is kind of a no- brainer.

In addition to his remarks on the foermer FLOTUS, she is also among the most popular women among Democrats and independents the U.S. According to Gallup, Michelle was the most admired woman in America in 2018 and 2019. Her memoir alone sold over 10 million copies. More importantly, she has managed to find a non- partisan group that is aimed at increasing voter registration, which made news last week. She has endorsed a Democratic Legislation aimed at early voter registration and vote-by-mail, in the midst of the Corona.

Personally, there is no person that Bidden can pick as  his Vice that would increase his chances of victory. Period.

Despite all this,  the real deal is whether Michelle will accept the offer if indeed Joe picked her as his VP. This is because, in “Becoming” she put it clearly that she had no intentions of running for the office, whatsoever. Again, in an interview last year with Conan O’Brien for his podcast, she again ruled out the possibility of running. According to her, her time in the white house had made it impossible for her to be anonymous and live normally.
