Now that most people are stuck at home, you owe it to yourself to address your skin woes. While some problems naturally require a dermatologist’s help, there are several skincare tips that can get your skin thriving while at home.
Get a skincare routine
You might have had a hard time coming up with a routine with a busy schedule but no more. Take this extra time on your hands to get a proper routine going. This should include a cleanser, toner and moisturizer suited for your skin.Do some research and figure out what works your skincare needs. Furthermore, try to find products that contain SPF to prevent UV rays that can seep through windows.
Limit your screen time
Now that you are probably on your phone or laptop longer, you might want to limit the amount of time you spend staring at a screen. This is because studies show that too much screen time accelerates aging.
Drink a lot of water
The gospel of drinking more water cannot miss when talking about skincare. Water helps to push out impurities from our bodies and helps with brighter eyes, shinier hair, stronger nails and of course, better skin. Drinking a glass of water when you wake up is recommended to pace you as you keep hydrated throughout the day. Additionally, water helps curb your appetite and slows down the weight gain during quarantine. On average, people should drink about 8 glasses of water.
Don’t touch your face
You’ve already heard why it’s bad to touch your face amidst the covid pandemic. However, your skin will also thank you if you kept touching it to the bare minimum. Touching, poking at pimples or picking at spots will only delay your skincare goals.
Clean out your products and brushes
Keep breakout to a minimum by cleaning out your beauty supplies drawer or vanity. Look through your products and throw out all the expired ones as you clean out your make up brushs and sponges. These tend to harbour germs that once introduced to your skin cause breakouts.
