Doing housework pays off!

Next time you do a lot of scrubbing of floors and washing clothes and get tired, don’t complain – there is a health benefit. According to Cancer Research UK- funded study, doing a lot of housework can reduce your breast cancer risk by as much as 30 percent.

The research on over 200,000 European women found, for pre-menopausal women, doing around 16 hours of household chores a week was more cancerprotective than playing sport or having a physical job. All types of physical activity combined reduced the risk of both preand post- menopausal women getting the disease.

The results suggest regular, moderate physical activity may be more important for reducing cancer risk than less frequent, more intense exercise.
