Football enthusiasts have a rare chance of viewing the coveted FIFA world cup trophy after it landed in Kenya yesterday ahead of the world cup to be held in Qatar, later this year.

The 18-carat golden trophy was received by Cabinet Secretary for sports Amina Mohammed at the at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport. The CS was accompanied by the cabinet secretary for tourism Najib Balala, and CS for industrialization Betty Maina Present also were Nairobi County GovernorAnne Kananu and the top officials of Coca Cola.

Retired Brazilian football star, Juliano Belleti who had accompanied the trophy, later handed it to President Uhuru Kenyatta at the State House.

16-year-old pilot lands in Kenya In pursuit of World Record
A teenage pilot of British and Belgian nationalities on Wednesday landed in Kenya’s capital, Nairobi on a quest to become the youngest person to fly solo around.

The trophy is set for a two-day tour before heading to South Africa and then Tanzania.

Football fans and other members of the public interested to view the trophy today will be required to purchase a 1.25 Litre or 2Litres of Coke, Sprite or Fanta at the entrance of KICC to be able to access the venue to view the trophy.
