Fly540 has suspended all flights to Lamu after a botched terrorist attack at the Manda airstrip.

The 5.30 am attack saw the militants attack the airstrip that is close to the Camp Simba military base.

Three Americans, aservice member and two Department of Defense contractors, lost their lives in the aftermath of the attack. Two others were injured.

The Al-Shabaab have claimed responsibility for the attack, citing “severe casualties on both American and Kenyan troops”.

Four militants from the Al-Qaeda- affiliated terrorist sect were killed in the ambush.

While the airstrip has since been secured, it remains closed.
