Parenting should be considered a full time job. From diaper changes, cooking, cleaning, homework, stopping fights… the list is endless. Ensuring your kids are well fed tops the list of responsibilities. As a responsible parent, feeding your children healthy snacks is important in ensuring they meet their daily nutrition requirements and securing a healthy future.

Below are quick healthy snack ideas you can give your children

Smoothie

Smoothies are a delish way of ensuring your children are on top of their daily fruit requirements. There something fulfilling about gulping down a thick colourful glass of your favourite smoothie. Try mixing different fruits for different flavours. Our all time favourite is the banana, strawberry and milk. No sugars, no additives just natures cup of yum!

Healthy Parfait

You might be wondering how a parfait has made it into our list of healthy snacks. Isn’t it supposed to have all sorts of unnecessary and unhealthy sugars? Well you can substitute all the unhealthy ingredients to come up with your own healthy and natural signature creation. Ingredients we swear by include flavoured yoghurt, berries, grapes, pumpkin seeds, coconut flakes, cinnamon and nuts. Layer your ingredients in a glass and serve.

Overnight oats

Oats are not only a great source of fibre but are rich in antioxidants and vitamins. Most people drink oat porridge but there are so many other interesting recipes you can indulge in. You can reap the benefits of oats, chia seeds and preferred fruits to come up with a snack that is packed with all kinds of yum and taste. You can soak the oats and chia seeds in milk for around 12 hours. After they become soft, add in your choice of healthy toppings like sliced bananas, blueberries and coconut strips for a healthy treat.
