DPP Orders Probe Into Gospel Singer Betty Bayo’s Mysterious Death
The sudden death of gospel singer Betty Bayo has sparked concern and calls for answers from her family, prompting the Directorate of Public Prosecutions (DPP) to intervene.
Bayo, who reportedly passed away on November 10, 2025, is remembered for her soulful voice and inspiring music. However, her unexpected death has raised questions about the circumstances surrounding her final days. According to her mother, Joyce Wairimu, Bayo showed no prior signs of illness, yet her life was cut short reportedly due to excessive bleeding.
In a letter to the DPP, Joyce expressed her suspicions, stating that the family had been denied access to her daughter’s medical records, an autopsy, and clear explanations regarding her treatment. She further alleged that Bayo’s burial was rushed, fueling fears that crucial information may have been overlooked or intentionally concealed.
Responding to these concerns, the DPP has directed the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) to open a formal investigation into Bayo’s death. The DPP has instructed the DCI to conduct a thorough inquiry and submit a full report within seven days.
This development is expected to provide clarity and answers for the grieving family and the gospel music community, many of whom continue to mourn the loss of a rising star.
As the investigation unfolds, it serves as a reminder of the importance of transparency and accountability in cases of sudden and unexplained deaths, ensuring families have access to the truth and justice where needed.
