The Joska Town Raid

Elite detectives from the DCI Headquarters teamed up with Matungulu-based officers to track down Vincent Ochieng. They cornered the prime suspect at a residential house in Joska Town, Machakos County.

DCI detectives have shot and killed Vincent Ochieng, the prime suspect behind the viral armed robbery at Chaiiwali Restaurant in Spring Valley, following a fierce shootout in Joska, Machakos County.

Ochieng had fled Nairobi to hide at his girlfriend’s house. He hoped to escape the police after his gang’s bold crimes went viral.

The Shootout

The early morning raid quickly turned violent. Officers surrounded the house, identified themselves, and ordered the occupants to surrender. Ochieng refused. Instead, he opened fire on the detectives through a kitchen window.

The team returned fire to protect themselves and neutralize the threat. Police officers broke into the house after the brief shootout. They found the suspect with fatal wounds. Fortunately, no officers or bystanders sustained injuries during the exchange.

Recovered Weapons and Evidence

At the scene, crime scene investigators recovered a Beretta pistol. The weapon had a magazine with four rounds of 9mm ammunition. Police also found spent cartridges, extra live rounds, and three stolen mobile phones.

The DCI forwarded the firearm to the National Police Service Forensic Laboratory. Ballistic experts will determine if the gun links to other regional crimes.

The Chaiiwali Restaurant Robbery

Detectives link the deceased suspect to the July 4 robbery at Chaiiwali Restaurant. During the Spring Valley attack, armed gangsters on motorcycles terrorized diners. The thugs stole phones and laptops before firing warning shots into the air.While police have neutralized the main suspect, they are still hunting his accomplices.
