The National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) has issued a public notice calling on Kenyan motorists whose Smart Driving Licences (Smart DLs) are ready to collect them from their designated centres.
The authority emphasised that applicants must pick up their cards directly from the specific NTSA centres where their biometric details were originally captured.
Key highlights of the NTSA notice
- Motorists must collect their licences from the exact NTSA centre where their biometrics were taken.
- NTSA strongly cautioned the public against dealing with third-party brokers or intermediaries. The agency reassured applicants that its services are fully digitalised, transparent, and directly accessible to the public.
- Motorists can check the processing status of their Smart Driving Licences and new-generation number plates online through the NTSA portal before making a physical visit.
- Following recent operational overhauls, NTSA noted that once a document is marked as ready in the system, collection takes only a few minutes.
How to check status & collect your Smart DL
- Log in to your official NTSA portal account to confirm that your Smart DL status reflects “Ready for Collection”.
- Head over to the NTSA centre or Huduma Centre where your biometric registration was completed.
