Couple who have been together for 50 years finally get married in mass wedding
Mass weddings are known for their sheer convenience and are usually the go to option for those wishing to cut down on costs but still manage to indulge in some bit of glitz.
On April 28, joy knew no bounds when 33 couples tied the knot in a colourful mass wedding held at Our Lady of Consolata Catholic Church, Nyeri County.
Amongst those who got married were Mrs. Mary Wambui and Mr. Paul Githinji who finally exchanged vows after living together for 50 years.
The 33 blushing brides alongside their grooms were a spectacle to see as each one had pick out their design. They appeared contented with the simple wedding which had helped cut down costs and brought together many friends and families.
Nyeri Archbishop, Anthony Muheria who presided over the mass wedding praised the couples for their decision and advised them to seek marital counsel from church leaders when faced with challenges.
“This was a bold step for the couples. As the Catholic Church we are encouraging families to allow God to shed more light to our homes. Learn how to communicate at all times and forgive each other when you have wronged,” said the Archbishop.
