Five dead in Samburu road accident

Five people died after a grisly road accident on Monday, in Sapache along the Isiolo-Marsabit highway in Samburu county.

According Juma Ombata, the Deputy Police Commander of Samburu East Sub-County, the accident happened after the tire burst of a Toyota Land cruiser had a tire burst causing a head-on collision with a Range Rover V8.

An eye witness reported that despite the low speed of the Landcruiser, the tyre burst made the driver lose control of the vehicle, leading to the accident.

Three passengers who survived the accident sustained external bleeding and multiple fractures and were taken to Archers hospital where they remain in critical condition.

The bodies of the deceased were ferried to Wamba Sub-County mortuary.
