Kenya is known in the sports world as the country of a thousand athletes and we have enough gold, silver and bronze to match our reputation. In the Olympic games last month, which is among the grandest sporting extravaganza in the world, Kenya bagged a good number of medals to put it on top of its peers in Africa and stamp her authority in athletics. David Rudisha, the greatest middle-distance runner in the world, successfully defended his Olympics title in the 800m race; a feat last attained in 1964.
