34 year-old-Award winning actress, aims to tell the world about the beauty of black skin, through her book titled ‘Sulwe’ which is set to be released in January 2019.

This is following her continued, openness about how her life has been as a dark skinned woman; she talks about the trials and tribulations she has had to endure and persevere through. She opens up about not feeling beautiful because she only saw pale women on television and little to no representation of black women.

”I am pleased to reveal that I have written a children’s book! It’s called ‘Sulwe’! Sulwe is a dark skinned girl who goes on starry-eyed adventure, and awakens with a re-imagined sense of beauty.” She wrote on her Instagram Account.

The actress hopes that despite the fact that the book is for children, it will inspire everyone to walk with joy in their own skin.
