A man will spend four-and-a-half years in prison for stealing his neighbour’s two cooking pots. Francis Mugambi Kibiki, 33, was convicted by Nanyuki Resident Magistrate Evans Ngigi on two offences of stealing and breaking into a neighbour’s house.

The court heard that on June 22, 2015, the farmer broke into Mary Akinyi’s house in Likiii village and stole the sufurias worth Sh1,600.

“Ms Akinyi told the court that she hawked boiled eggs for a living and during her testimony in court, she emotionally narrated how it took her many weeks to save Sh3,200 to replace the stolen items, which have not been recovered yet,” observed the magistrate.

A witness told the court he had seen Mr Kibiki leaving Akinyi’s house with the sufurias.
