The US First Lady Melania Trump will make her first tour to Africa in October.

This is according to her communications director Stephanie Grisham. It is however not yet clear where specifically in Africa the US First Lady will visit. Her office announced on Monday that further details will be released in the coming weeks.

“This will be my first time traveling to Africa and I am excited to educate myself on the issues facing children throughout the continent,” Trump said in a statement, “while also learning about its rich culture and history.”

Melania Trump also added that she was looking forward to highlighting successful humanitarian work and development programmes underway in Africa. Her trip is thus expected to focus on good-deed projects.

This decision to visit Africa comes a few months after she launched “Be best initiative” that promotes children’s well-being.

“I look forward to highlighting the successful humanitarian work and development programs being done in many of the countries,” Trump said in a statement.

Melania Trump will be visiting Africa unaccompanied by US President Donald Trump who since taking office has belittled the “shithole” countries in the continent.
