Meet the Cover Models: November 2013

Irene Njoki Mutegi, 22, and her daughter Christabel Zawadi Ochieng, 10 months, grace this month’s cover. Irene is trained in human resource management and currently works as a personal assistant and office administrator at Jenga Web Limited, Nairobi.

HOW HAS YOUR PARENTING EXPERIENCE BEEN?
I am not yet married but my child’s father, whom I am engaged to, is involved in her life. Parenting has been exciting. It has made me more responsible and mature because, now, when I make any major decisions I have to consider how they will affect my daughter. My
priorities have changed since she came into my life.
BRIEFLY DESCRIBE YOUR DAUGHTER?
Zawadi, as her name suggests, is a precious gift. She is a blend of my character and her dad’s. I am from Eastern Kenya while her father is from the Lakeside region of Nyanza. Her proud and picky nature is from her father, while her cheekiness and beauty is
from me! She is simply amazing.
