Bystanders attempted to restrain the suspect but also attacked him before officers from Migosi Police Station, supported by detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), intervened and took him into custody.
The victim was rushed to Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Teaching and Referral Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival. The alleged murder weapon was reportedly taken by members of the public during the chaos, and police are working to recover it as part of their investigation.
Crime scene investigators processed the site before the body was moved to the hospital mortuary pending post-mortem examination.
Police say they will charge the suspect with murder once investigations are complete and have urged the public to settle disputes peacefully rather than resort to violence.
