Former prime minister Raila Odinga has come out strongly to condemn the recent disappearance and murder of children and women.

In a statement released on twitter on Monday, the former premier said that death has been hanging  over Kenyans for sometime now and too many children and women have suffered gruesome deaths in the hands of people who should be their protectors.

This comes a week after a 20- year- old man accused of abducting and killing 12 children provided the police with clues of the spots where he dumped the bodies of his victims.

The ODM leader is also calling upon the National Police service  to assure Kenyans that it is up to the task of protecting citizens especially girls, children and women.

In recent days cases of missing children who are later found murdered have been on the increase.
