Chris Brown released without a single charge

American R&B singer Chris Brown has been released without a single charge after being arrested on Monday for allegedly raping a 25 year old in Paris.

The Prosecutor’s office in Paris has confirmed that the case is still under investigation. The victim is said to have filed a complaint accusing Mr. Brown, his bodyguard and his friend for raping her at luxury Mandarin Oriental hotel.

After his release on Tuesday, Mr. Brown took to his Instagram page which commands a following of almost 50 million fans to refute the claims.

 

“I wanna make it perfectly clear this is false and a whole lot of … For my daughter and my family this is so disrespectful and is against my character and morals!” read part of the post.

Through his lawyer, Raphael Chiche, the Grammy Award winner will sue for defamation.

Chris Brown’s previous arrests

This is not the first time Chris Brown has been arrested. In April 2017 Brown was arrested for punching a man who photographed him without permission. He was later released on a 200,000 shillings bail and is awaiting trial for that case.

In 2016, Brown was arrested and charged with assault with a deadly weapon after a woman told police that he had threatened her with a gun. Brown’s lawyers claimed that the accusations were “demonstrably false”.

In 2014, Brown pleaded guilty to assaulting a fan in Washington while in 2009, he was charged with felony assault and making criminal threats to his then girlfriend, Rihanna. Brown received five years probation and community service.

Consequences of Chris Brown’s assault charges

According to BBC, in 2010, the R&B singer was denied a British Visa to go and do a tour because of the assault conviction involving Rihanna. He also had to cancel his “One Hell of a Nite” tour in Australia and New Zealand in 2015 for the same reason.

In early 2015, Brown had been denied from leaving the Philippines for three days based on an assault complaint that had been made on New Year’s Eve concert.

Chris Brown’s career

Brown’s music has won several awards such as the 2012 Grammy Awards for best R&B album for “F.A.M.E.” His most recent album “Heartbreak on a Full Moon,” was ranked number three by the Billboard album chart in 2017.

So far, Brown has released eight studio albums. Six of them, have made over one million sales. Chris Brown debuted his first music album at 16 years, which sold over two million copies.

Chris Brown has also made a career in acting and one of the films he has featured in is a teen drama called “The OC.”
