The Kenyan Films Classifications Board (KFCB) has banned a Disney show from airing in Kenya.

The Andi Mack series made headlines worldwide following Disney’s announcement that one of the main characters will come out as gay in season two.

KFCB boss Ezekiel Mutua said the organisation is unapologetic adding no gay content in children’s shows would air in Kenya.

Previously banned shows

Loud House, the Legend of the Korra, Hey Arnold are some of the shows that have also been banned for the same reason.

Clarance, Steven Universe and Adventure Time of Cartoon Network were also disallowed from airing.

Mutua was commended by Kenyans online for what they termed as ‘taking a stand’ against homosexuality in television shows.

Sacred Union

Mutua says the family institution is sacred and obtained from a union between a man and woman.

Any other doctrine contrary to that is heresy and a travesty.
