The High Court has suspended all non-essential flights from China and countries deemed as coronavirus hotspots by WHO. The ban also extends to sea and land travel by people from the said hotspots.

This came after the Law Society of Kenya sued the Government for resuming China – Kenya flights. This, the society felt, put the Kenyan populace  at risk as the Government had yet not outlined measures it would take to contain the contagion.

It went further to order the state to prepare a contingency plan on prevention, surveillance and response systems to coronavirus outbreak in the country. The plan will then be presented to court.
