Suffering from terminal cancer yet his spirits remained upbeat

Hajji AbdiAziz who at only 23 years was hit by a matatu ,lost his leg and then found out he had bone cancer, died over the weekend and  was buried but his lessons about life remain.

Abdiaziz   became an online sensation when his plight was shared on Facebook .The video where he made his last wish-to go to Mecca for his Hajj ;an important Islamic ritual,instantly went viral.

Kenyans and other people came to his aid to help him seek treatment in India but go to Mecca .In an uncanny brotherhood ,this spirited man from Korogocho endeared himself to all Kenyans of different faiths, cultures and backgrounds.

Despite the grim news that he had only 30 days to live, his photos ,videos  and posts were filled with hope, faith, courage, laughter and until his final day he was the picture of perseverance.

Valiant till the end

He outlived the doctors’s prognosis with a couple of months.

AbdiAziz died early Sunday morning at Nairobi National Hospital and was laid to rest yesterday at Langata Cemetary
