The county government of Kakamega through governor Wycliffe Oparanya has pledged to cater for the funeral of slain football fan Isaac Juma.  The county government has also offered to clear school fees for Juma’s three children who are currently in secondary school.

In a meeting with Juma’s wife Faridah Juma, Oparanya eulogised Juma as a loyal supporter of AFC Leopards and Harambee Stars and called on the investigative agencies to bring the suspects of Juma’s murder to book.

A sector of Mumias East locals had earlier urged the government to ensure that Juma gets a befitting send-off as he was a patriot and provided morale for the Harambee stars football team, particularly during International football matches.

Juma, an ardent football fan, was murdered on Wednesday last week at his home in Mumias East Constituency, allegedly over a land dispute. A suspect, Milton Namatsi, has since been arrested and is being held in police custody even as investigations continue.
