Kenyans in USA turned up in large numbers to support the family of Patricia Anyango Ouma Miswa who was found dead in her hostel room in Mankato, Minnesota on January 4, 2018.

Preliminary post-mortem results indicated that she died of mild pneumonia.

Patricial left Kenya one year ago to persue a Masters degree in creative writing at the University of Mankato

Speaking to Nation, Patricia’s younger sister Anita Miswa, said she spoke to her sister during new year’s eve and did not notice any medical change in their conversation.

Last week, her family in Kenya sent out a passionate appeal to well-wisher to help them with her burial arrangements that will happen in Kiti, Nakuru county.

Kenyans abroad answered the call to help by turning up at the Church of the Nazarene in North Brooklyne centre in Minnesota where they raised enough cash to ferry her body back home.

Patricia is the founder of Afro Elle Magazine, a digital magazine celebrating women of African heritage in Africa and the Diaspora.
