Magline Jeruto, Kenya’s representative to the 2017 Miss World pageant is the nation’s pride after she finished at an impressive fifth place on Saturdays coronation in Sanya, China.

Jeruto, Kenya’s reigning beauty queen from the County of Elgeyo Marakwet, warded off stiff competition to make it to the top five on her first attempt at the world crown.

Miss world title was won by Manushi Chhillar of India. Mexico’s Andreae Meza finished second, England’s Stephanie Hill came third while France’s Aurore Kichenin was number four.

Indonesian model Achintya Holte Nilsen was hot on Jeruto’s heels followed by Jamaica’s Solange Sinclair, Russia’s Polina Popova, South Africa’s Adè van Heerden and South Korea Ha-eun Kim to wrap up the top 10 list respectively.
