After a tumultuous year characterized with visits in and out of hospital, Tanzanian award-winning artiste Ommy Dimpoz returned to the music scene with a Gospel-ish song thanking his fans, family and God for standing with him during the difficult period.

The Bongo star’s woes started with a throat surgery in South Africa in mid last year, which was followed by a second surgery in December in Germany. Understandably, there was uncertainty over the hit maker’s return to the music scene as his vocal cords had been damaged by an infection. However, if his latest song is anything to go by, those fears have been laid to rest.

Early reports had indicated that the singer could have been suffering from throat cancer but this has since been ruled out. It later emerged that he could have been poisoned. A close friend to Mombasa County Governor, Ali Joho, Dimpoz, whose real name is Omary Nyemobo, is said to have been under the care of the flamboyant politician all the while. The singer since returned to his home country – Tanzania.

Here is Ommy Dimpoz’s new song…
