If you do sit-ups without good form, you could be doing your body (and figure) more harm than good. Failing to engage your core muscles before and during abdominal exercise can result in training muscles to ‘push outwards’, giving the appearance of a potbelly. Suck your belly in and keep your lower back pressed onto the floor during crunches, and exhale as you crunch or sit up, so you are not working against a stomach full of air.
