6 reasons why you are in such a bad mood
Do you ever find yourself in a bad mood without even realizing why? Everything else seems perfect, but for some reason you are just not feeling okay? These are some of the things that are sinking your mood without you realizing it.
Lack of sleep
“… sleep deprivation is an illegal torture method outlawed by the Geneva Convention and international courts, but most of us do it to ourselves.”
Ryan Hurd certainly had a point when he said those words. Oft times we attend to sleep like it is an option, while in real sense the quality of sleep can make or break your day. If you wake up tired, your moods are going to dip. Try going to bed earlier and see if there is a notable difference.
Weather
Have you ever woken up all positive and happy, but then look outside and you heart sinks? Yap, cold weather and rain has a certain way of raining on your parade. So if you are wondering why you are so sullen, the answer could be just outside your window.
The food you eat
Let’s look at it this way, a pen uses ink. If you fill in with anything other than ink, say, tomato sauce, it is going to malfunction. Our body’s functions are driven by the energy it derives from the different food groups in the right amounts. If you feed it unhealthy food, it is not just the physical but your mental state too will be affected.
Multiple studies have found a correlation between highly processed, refined foods and sugars to mood swings, and their ultimate contribution to depression. So eat healthy for the sake of your happiness and sanity!
The media you expose yourself too
There are people who simply stopped watching news because there is too much sorrow, sadness, death, corruption and ills going on there. The media you consume via television, social media, newspaper, books can really disrupt your day.
Taking part in those online battles with strangers can really affect your day. The way to go is to be very mindful of the media you consume and sever links with material that cause you sadness.
Sedentary lifestyle
Staying in one place for too long will affect your mood. Even if you work from home, take time to walk around every now and again. Also, make it a habit to go for a walk everyday.
Your thoughts are jumbled
If your thoughts are not organized, the arising confusion will affect your moods. Take time declutter your mind and to organize your thoughts and ideas so they flow, and you will have a better day.
