Monday August 12 is a public holiday- Matiang'i

Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i has gazetted Monday 12th a public holiday to mark the Islamic celebration of Eid Ul Adha. It is celebrated in commemoration of Abraham’s (Ibrahim) acceptance to sacrifice his son.
