How to Apply for IEBC Jobs 2026: A Step-by-Step Guide to the 12,520 Vacancies
  • PublishedFebruary 26, 2026

The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has officially opened applications for 12,520 temporary positions to support the Enhanced Continuous Voter Registration (ECVR) exercise. If you are looking for a way to serve your country while earning a living, here is exactly how to navigate the application process.

Step 1: Prepare your documents

Before logging onto the portal, ensure you have scanned copies of the following:

  • National ID Card (Must be a Kenyan citizen)

  • Academic Certificates (KCSE for Clerks, Diplomas for Assistants/ICT)

  • Testimonials (Any relevant ICT or previous IEBC experience)

Step 2: Access the official portal

All applications must be submitted through the official IEBC careers portal at the official IEBC website. Avoid any third-party links claiming to offer manual forms; the commission has clarified that only online applications will be considered.

Step 3: Create your profile

If you are a new user, you will need to register by providing your National ID number, a valid email address, and a strong password. Ensure the email you use is active, as all recruitment communications will be sent there.

Step 4: Selecting your role and location

Once logged in, browse through the three available categories: Voter Registration Assistants (1,450 slots), Voter Registration Clerks (10,780 slots), or ICT Clerks (290 slots).

Pro Tip: Since these roles are ward-based, ensure you apply for a position in the constituency where you are registered to vote. Being a local resident is a significant advantage during the shortlisting phase.

Step 5: Final submission

Review your details carefully. Once you click Submit, you cannot edit your application. You must complete this process before the March 4, 2026, deadline.
