DON’T CONFUSE ANOINTING WITH APPOINTMENT

As the year begins and as the 2017 election campaigns gather steam, I want us to reflect on two very important concepts of Christian living – anointment and appointment. To anoint is to consecrate, to bless, to ordain or to confer divine office upon a chosen one. To appoint means to commission or to designate a role or responsibility to someone.
