How to be a confident mum

How to be a confident mum
  • PublishedNovember 16, 2022

The most important thing about being a mum is confidence. Children will always look up to confident mothers. As a mum, you want your children to respect you, and most of all, give you peace. The child’s self-esteem and physical health will also largely depend on you. Therefore as the mother, you are also a mentor to the child. To be a confident mum while fulfilling all these duties do the following:

Do not listen to bad advice

Once you have a child you will get lots of advice from people; mostly relatives and friends.  When it comes to matters about the health of your child, the best thing to do is to consult with a pediatrician.

Act like a pro

To be a confident mum, begin to act like it. Your baby will feel safer if you project confidence. Babies do not come with manuals, and all mums ever do is wing it at times. Follow your guts and trust that you are doing what is right for you and your baby. Convince yourself that you can do it. When you speak, do it slower and lower as opposed to talking fast and loud. It will give you composure.

Lose the audience

When you and your baby are not well, get some time for the two of you. Avoid listening to people because they may confuse you. Talk to your baby in private and avoid unsolicited advice. You know your child best.

Be decisive

Learn to make decisions quickly and confidently.

Do not hide your emotions

Hiding emotions won’t make you feel better. Practice this, and you will find out that when you talk it out, you will feel better.

Do not compare yourself to others

There is always going to be those friends who will appear to be ahead of you. Do not compete with them or compare yourself to them.

Take time for you

Take time alone to relax and rejuvenate. It will benefit both you and your baby.

Be happy together

Spend as much undistracted time with your baby.
