All eyes will be on world marathon record holder Eliud Kipchoge as he aims to run under two hours in a distance of 42 kilometers in the INEOS 1:59 challenge. The event will see the record holder take to the course in a date yet to be decided between October 12th and 20th depending on the weather conditions to break a record which he missed by 26 seconds in 2017 at the F1 circuit in Monza, Italy.
His starting time will be between 6 a.m and 10 a.m Kenyan time with Vienna chosen as the location for the event due to its favorable weather conditions in the month of October.
Kipchoge departed for Vienna yesterday in a private jet (Sir Jim’s Gulfstream G280) from his training base together with his manager Patrick Sang and a few other staff members.
