THE NEW FOOD HAVEN IN TOWN

Foodies and various people thronged the Westgate mall yesterday evening to witness the grand opening of Grilll Shack restaurant.

It was all pomp and glamour as food bloggers like Miss Kaluhi Adagala, Jay Take A Pic other notable media personalities graced the event.

The place was abuzz with activities such as a photobooth and a red carpet which was also laid out as photographers clicked away while people strutted the red carpet.

Mwaniki Mageria, the CEO of Riverwood Ensemble Filmmakers Association was the emcee of the evening. Being in the food business, he did a great job of enticing the guests who were about to indulge in the delicacies.

The event kicked off with a powerful speech from Salim Eceolaza, Managing Director of Simbisa brands. “The Grilll Shack offers a predominantly meaty menu of steaks, ribs and burgers in a casual yet industrial setting,” said Salim.

“We’ve been training Head Chef, Septa Williams for many years. He was pulled out of Kenya then sent to Dubai for eight years to prepare for this. That’s how forward looking we were,” he added.

Rythms Unlimited band entertained the guests with renditions of different genres which complemented the relaxing ambience and lighting.

Other highlights of the night were a couple dancing salsa to a Spanish number and the staff who also entertained us with a dance much to the excitement of the guests.

The restaurant has a comprehensive menu with starters ranging from spring rolls to prawns, to full course meals such as texas steak, pork ribs and tantalizing desserts.

The staff led by General Manager, Wesley Baleta would also walk around to check whether the guests were enjoying themselves.

The Grilll Shack is an ideal place to take your date on Valentine’s Day especially if you want to experience fine dining. All hail the new food haven!
