UK's Prime Minister Hospitalised over COVID-19 Symptoms
British Prime Minister Boris Johnson has been admitted to hospital ten days after developing Coronavirus symptoms, Downing Street said on Sunday.
“On the advice of his doctor, the Prime Minister has tonight been admitted to hospital for tests,” the Prime Minister’s Office said in a statement, adding that the tests were part of a “precautionary step” due to Johnson’s lingering symptoms.
In a video posted on Twitter on March 27, Johnson, 55, announced that he had tested positive for the virus. The Prime Minister has been running the government remotely since he went into isolation.
Those who worked closely with him, including his pregnant partner, have also tested positive or experienced symptoms that strongly suggest a COVID-19 infection.
A few weeks ago, the Prime Minister boasted of shaking the hands of coronavirus patients in hospital.
