Mwangi Kiunjuri is no longer the Cabinet Secretary for Agriculture. President Uhuru Kenyatta announced a reshuffle Tuesday morning, that saw the CS replaced by Peter Munya.

Mwangi Kiunjuri lit up the social media sphere a few days ago when he suggested that Kenyans take pictures of insects and post them on social media to help ascertain whether the insects were really locusts.

What has led to his sacking remains unclear, as sections of people blame it on his docket’s incompetence in handling the locusts plague. Yet another section of social media links it to his out and out attack on the Building Bridges Initiative.

The reshuffle has seen former Health CS Sicily Kariuki moved to the Water ministry, as her place is taken by Mutahi Kagwe. Betty Maina will now take command of the Industrialization ministry. Ukur Yatani will officially head the Finance docket as Simon Chelugui assumes control of the Labour docket.

Meanwhile, Rachel Omamo will now move to Foreign Affairs, as Monica Juma takes charge of Defence.
