Are boys at risk of diaper infertility?

  • PublishedSeptember 29, 2017

There is an assumption that diapers can harm boys or make them infertile. But according to doctors, the widespread myth is simply that. A myth. This is because your baby’s testicles will not start producing sperm until puberty anyway.

While testicles should not be overheated, there’s no proof that if a boy’s scrotum stays too warm, fertility will be affected. Diapers also don’t get heated to harmful levels to the testicles.

Mothers can continue using nappies or diapers, but experts advise that they should remember to keep their babies nappy-free for some time every day. It makes them feel freer, relaxed and reduces the risk of nappy rash.
