Body of defiled six-year-old retrieved from pit latrine

Two men were Sunday arrested over the rape and murder of a six-year-old in Makueni. Mulei Ndolo ,61 , and Peter Musyoki ,41 , allegedly raped the girl, killed her and buried her in a pit latrine in a plastic water container.

The nursery pupil was reported missing last Sunday, while search began on Monday. The police combed the area to no avail, and only to be led to it yesterday after a handwritten note detailing the location of the body was found posted at the local Kitondooni market.

The body would later be found buried in a pit latrine in one of the suspect’s homestead.

“The search was intensified and today a handwritten note was found posted on the walls of a shop at Kitondooni market, indicating  that the body was dipped in a toilet in a homestead of one Mulei Ndolo aged 61,” Makueni County police Commander Joseph Napeiyan said in a statement.

The two suspects have since been arrested while the body transferred to Makueni Referral Hospital.
