Breaking the Internet: ‘Githeri Man’ Martin Kamotho is the big winner in Kenyan elections

Since his photo eating ‘githeri’ from a paper bag went viral spanning hilarious memes, Martin Kamotho aka ‘Githeri Man’ seems to just keep winning.

Since being discovered in his home area in Kayole  last week, ‘Githeri Man’ received three brand new phones, complete with airtime, said to be worth an estimated Kshs 200,000.

Shortly thereafter, a real estate firm gave him not only a piece of land in Ngong, but pledged to build him a house as well.

The photo of Kamotho eating ‘Githeri’ from a clear polythene paper bag was taken by a random voter as Kamotho was waiting in line for his turn to vote and thereafter went viral. Which just goes to show that being yourself is rewarding!
