Ruth Wanjiru, 24, was to report to work the next day after signing her employment contract at a firm along Mombasa road and moreover her mother had just approved her relationship with Francis Kinuthia who was to visit their Kayole Junction home in just three day.

However all this never happened after she was found dead at her ex-boyfriend’s house Wednesday last week with her laptop bag still on her back and a knife lodged in her neck.

According to Nation, her ex-boyfriend Simon Musyoka had sent a text message to his friend and told him that he was planning to commit suicide which made him go see him only to find the dead Ruth locked inside the house.

Her mother, Ms Salome Muthoni, received the news via a phone call from a police officer while at work in Dandora where she works as a nurse.

Ms Muthoni claimed Simon, whom she knows, had tried twice to kill her daughter. He once kidnapped her and tried to set ablaze the house they were in but they were rescued, she said.

Simon’s phone was last traced to Matuu, Machakos County.
