Don’t forget to feed your brain
Fact: Your brain is the hungriest part of your body and needs frequent feeding. When you have a demanding day at work or at home taking care of the children, or burning the midnight oil studying for an exam or to complete an assignment, or practicing for a tournament, or even learning a new skill, your brain needs fuelling by a steady supply of glucose. Ensure you feed on foods that boost your mood and memory and keep you focused. Here are some tips:
*Eat plenty of whole grains and also eat small regular meals throughout the day.
*Eat antioxidant-rich vegetables and fruits to help destroy damaging free radicals.
*Your brain is around 60 per cent fat so feed it well with foods rich in omega-3 fatty acids such as oily fish, nuts and seeds.
