Former News Anchor accuses MP husband of assault
Mwingi Central Member of Parliament Gideon Mulyungi has been accused of assaulting his wife
Former Swahili news anchor at Ebru Tv Doreen Gatwiri on Tuesday morning wrote on her social media that the Wiper legislator attacked her the previous night.
She wrote:
“Writing this with a lot of fear. My life is in danger. This evening at about 9.50pm my husband Mwingi Central MP Gideon Mulyungi assaulted me at our Karen Home and I sustained head injuries at the back of my ear resulting to my left ear going numb,”.
She said she managed to report the matter at the Hardy Police Station adding that it wasn’t the first time he had beaten her.
“I managed to report the matter at Hardy Police Station. I fear for my life because he always threatened me that I really don’t know who he is. This assault is not the first or second time. I did it to protect my home and his anger condition,” she stated.
In a separate post, she confirmed that she was away from the MP after seeking treatment in a hospital in parklands.
She revealed that the legislator’s anger issues had also led him to assaulting a house help and a chef in their Mwingi home.
“The other day, he assaulted our house girl in our Mwingi home by slapping her and using his mkwaju stick on her, he also slapped our chef one old Mr Kangangi who took the matter to the police,” she revealed.
