Featuring Angelina Jolie as Lara Croft, the game based movie had a two week stint in Kenya for shooting. This was in the beautiful Hell’s Gate National park. Also, the Kenyan Pokot tribesmen played a role as the mysterious tribe discovered by Lara.

Sense 8

Gracing the list of  Netflix’s most successful Sci-Fi is Sense 8. It takes place in Kenya’s capital city, Nairobi. A group of people wonder how it is they are able to communicate with each other telepathically. Only then, do they realize that they are being hunted down. They therefore come together with an aim of defeating their common enemy and preserving the planet.

Featuring Leonardo DiCaprio, the 2010 Sci-Fi was shot in the Kenyan coastal city, Mombasa. Also, it employs props like the Kenya’s famous Swahili daily, Taifa Leo.
