Gay Kenyan author Binyavanga Wainana is Engaged

Internationally acclaimed Kenyan author Binyavanga Wainaina is set to marry his Nigerian lover.

In a social media post, Binyavanga Wainaina revealed that he got on one knee two weeks ago and asked his partner to marry him.

The wedding is set for 2018 in South Africa.

Binyavanga Wainaina and his partner have been dating on and off for the last 6 years.

Calling his partner gentle and generous of heart, he said it is only recently that he felt the need to ask the big question.

His announcement took Kenyans by surprise causing different reactions.

He caused a stir in 2014 when in an article he revealed he was homosexual.

Despite the looming controversy the writer promised a big reception in Kenya to celebrate his marriage.
