God’s Promises for 2013

Brethren, this is a special year. Forget the politics and uncertainties, this is the Jubilee year in our country and God’s blessings are bountiful to those who are ready to receive them. This is the year when God helps you recover what has been wrongfully taken away from you and enrich your land with good fruit to last a lifetime! Those who have been seeking will find; those who have nothing will receive plenty, and those who have been praying will have their prayers answered.

I am sure many of you have finished writing their resolutions and goals for this year, and committed them to God through prayer, and even fasting. And I tell you today that you are in time. God’s time is NOW, and you can be sure not to be disappointed. But there is a caveat: Not everybody will receive these blessings in the Jubilee year. In fact these blessings will not fall like manna or like rain without discrimination. It will only happen to those who fulfill God statutes. You MUST walk in His statues.

God says in Leviticus 26:3-5, “If you walk in My statutes and keep My commandments so as to carry them out, then I shall give you rains in their season, so that the land will yield its produce and the trees of the field will bear their fruit. Indeed, your threshing will last for you until grape gathering, and grape gathering will last until sowing time. You will thus eat your food to the full and live securely in your land.”

This is a big deal my friends. The Lord is not only promising rain in due season – which means all the resources you require to accomplish your goals – but also enough to last until the next season. This means you shall not lack. Best of all is God’s promise that you will enjoy the fruit of your labour in safety. What more could one wish for, brethren?

Most people, even after working hard and getting their reward, still lack the peace to enjoy their hard-earned money. Either there is turmoil in the land or ill health, which robs them of the peace of mind. But all that can be taken away from your path if you just keep God’s law. It is not only about having faith, but also living a Godly life. That is how He will fill you with His goodness this year, and bless you with the peace to enjoy it.

Most of us are worried and skeptical about the aftermath of the general elections next month. But do not be perturbed. All will be well with you wherever you will be. In fact, your faith and Godliness could save the whole land on behalf of all the people. God says that “neither shall the sword go through your land” and that your enemies “shall fall before you” and “I will multiply you, and establish my covenant with you.”

In verse 13 He reminds you whom He is, and what He has done in the past. For “I am the LORD your God, who brought you forth out of the land of Egypt, that you should not be their bondmen; and I have broken the bands of your yoke, and made you go upright.”

These are God’s promises to you this year friends. They are real. They are possible. Do not talk yourself out of them. Go for them. All you need is unshakable faith in God. Follow his laws and you will see what He has in store for you. As US preacher, Joel Osteen likes to say, do not even try to think about your present state. Do not think about the size of your problem think about the size of your God.

I challenge you to take full advantage of these promises. Ask yourself what it is you want in 2013 and go for it. What kind of seed are you planting for the rain God promises to shower on your land? What do you want to achieve this year? Do not think small. Think big. Test God and see if He won’t fulfill all of these promises. He is the ‘I am’, ever present, ever having, ever powerful.  He promises because He is able to fulfill the promises. Trust Him on this.

One more thing; vote for the future of Kenya in next month’s general elections. You know the right leaders, don’t you? Then vote as if you were doing it on behalf of God. Happy Jubilee Year!
