After a sustained  social media campaign by the KOT, Jomo Kenyatta International Airport has heeded to their request and replaced the mangy, threadbare tree their had earlier erected to stand in for a Christmas tree.

The scruffy tree became the center of social media banter as Kenyans trolled it endlessly for being  ’emaciated’. It was placed smack in the middle of the airport’s parking lot, where all passers-by both local and international could get an eyeful of tree KOT has described as ’embarrassing’.

It looked nothing like a Christmas tree – with its misaligned branches and amorphous shape. Looking at it would throw a damper on the Christmas spirit.

Seems the JKIA couldn’t talk the jokes anymore because it was replaced with a better-looking tree last evening.

Kenyans are more satisfied with the latest tree, but are also wondering why they had to wait for their outcry to do the right thing.

Christmas Tree at JKIA. Before & After. Is the first production the level of delivery ? what about areas that Kenyans are NOT able to see . Thank you @KenyaAirports for the correction but please stop cuddling animal called mediocrity. Get it right first time. Happy Holidays pic.twitter.com/RRvWwnkPTR
