IEBC announces interview dates for new commissioners
The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) will conduct interviews for commissioners starting 7th July 2021. Out of a pool of 629 applicants, the IEBC selection panel shortlisted 36 candidates who will battle it out for the positions left vacant by Roselyn Akombe, Paul Kurgat, Connie Maina and Margaret Mwachanya.
According to Dr.Elizabeth Muli, the chairperson of the selection panel, the commision will interview three candiates every day with interviews beginning at 9 am. However, before the interviews officially begin, the candidates will take their amplitude tests on Wednesday June 30th.

Muli further assured the public that the panel is committed to ensuring that the interviews are impartial and transparent adding that input from the public and relevant agencies regarding the suitability of the candidates will be considered in picking the suitable candidates.

The names of highest scoring candidates will be presented to President Uhuru Kenyatta for appointment as new IEBC commissioners.
