A Jomo Kenyatta University of Science and Technology student who has been missing for three days was found dead on Tuesday morning. The reports indicate that the student was murdered.

On July 24th, Tabitha Kitaa Kiiti’s body was discovered outside a hostel named Oasis in the school’s compound.

According to Jomo Kenyatta Students’ Association (JKUSA) President Ibrahim Boru Shalle,Tabitha was last seen on Saturday at around 6:30 am after a night out with friends at a popular joint in Thika.

“On Friday night, she went on a rave with friends to a club in Thika called Blend. They left at about 6am and boarded a matatu back to Juja,” said Ibrahim.

On Saturday July 22, they boarded Kenya Mpya Bus back but Tabitha had to be forced off the bus by her friends as she had refused to alight.

However, her friends say that as they were walking away and crossing the road, they looked back and saw Tabitha going after the bus and boarding it.

The deceased best friend, Linet Kerubo, who was with her on that day said that there is nothing they could do as the bus speed off almost immediately.

JKUAT students are now reportedly worried about the rise of insecurity in the area. They claim that the police take no action despite numerous crime reports.
