My teenage son doesn’t want to sleep at home

Q. My 18-year-old son who recently finished high school has taken to sleeping over at his friends’ homes and informing us at the very last minute. We normally don’t have an issue if it’s a friend we have met and know their parents. However, there are times he stays with friends we don’t know. With recent reports about teenage gangs and the allure of criminal life and fast cash, I’m just concerned about his movements. Am I being paranoid?
